Kanji is a lesson that cannot be eliminated in learning Japanese. The large number of kanji becomes an obstacle for learners. In this study, the kanji studied were adjusted to the Chuujoukyuu kanji. In this study, the data were taken from students of the 2 generations of academic years, totaling 58 students. Students who become respondents are students who have Japanese language skills equivalent to N-4 or N-3, for students who are already N-2 or N-1 are not included. This study was conducted to find the dominant relationship between the right hemisphere and the left hemisphere. Students are given several questions about the dominance of the use of the right and left brain, then look at the ability of kanji scores, in the midterm and final semester exams. From the research that has been carried out by the right hemisphere and the left hemisphere, students of both generations get the highest scores, but of the many who get the highest scores, the left hemisphere has the highest number of students. Another conclusion, students who have a balance in the dominance of the right hemisphere and the left hemisphere, never get the lowest and highest scores from students who are dominant in the right hemisphere or the left hemisphere.
