The Effectiveness of Think Pair Share on Japanese Language Bunpou Understanding and Motivation to Learn Japanese Language

Abstract

Mastering foreign language especially Japanese language is important for the students who take hospitality study program in Bali because Bali is international
tourism destination. Statistic notes that Japanese guests are one of dominant guest coming to Bali. Hence, the hospitality students should be taught well so they can commonicate in Japanese language well. This experimental research aims at knowing the effectiveness of Think Pair Share methods on Japanese Bunpou undertsanding and Japanese Learning Motivation. This research was done in Stipar Triatma Jaya by involving 60 samples who took hospitality program. Posttest Only control group design was applied to do this research. The data of Bunpou understanding were collected by test and the data of learning motivation were collected by using questionnaire. The obtained data were analyzed statistically by using Multivariate Analysis of Variance (MANOVA). This research discovered that Think Pair Share Method affects significantly on students’ Japanese Bunpou understanding and learning motivation separately and simultanuously. It means that Think Pair Share Method is effective to be used in learning Japanese language especially in Bunpou understanding and learning motivation.
