ONLINE LEARNING IN KANKO NIHONGO SUBJECT: A SWOC ANALYSIS

Abstract

Online learning is a learning method that is quite effective during the Covid 19 pandemic. The learning process that is carried out into virtually classes. There are some advantages and disadvantages of online learning process. Therefore, it is necessary to evaluate how the online learning process in the Kanko Nihongo subject. The method of this study is qualitative descriptive by SWOC analysis. Data collection was carried out through observation, questionnaires, interviews and documentation on learning from the Kanko Nihongo subject. The informants involved in this study were 38 students of the Japanese Department. Our analysis show that online learning in the Kanko Nihongo subject has the flexible learning in time and places, not necessarily face-to-face in class. But it seems difficult to mastery features learning management system (LMS) for both lecturers and students in short time. Both lecturers and students are challenged to learn more deeply about mastering the features contained in the learning management system (LMS). The internet connection was not stable enough as well. However, lecturers have the opportunity to develop and designs more effective online learning methods from now on.
