Pedagogical Competency Analysis of Teacher Professional Training Participants in Japanese Language Education Study Program
Abstract
Teacher’s competency in teaching is extremely important to support learning objectives in the classroom. Innovative and creative teachers in using methods and technology will certainly create a positive learning impression for students. One of the competencies that a teacher must have is pedagogical competency. Pedagogical competency can be stated asan art of a teacher in carrying out a lesson in the classroom. To increase the competence, a teacher is advised to attend several trainings, for example, Teacher Certification Program (PPG). The Teacher Certification Program (PPG) is followed by a teacher in order to improve the ability to educate and teach students held by a ministerial institution. The method in this writing used a survey method with a quantitative descriptive approach. The conclusion that can be drawn from this research was that some teachers of Teacher Certification Program (PPG) participants in their
positions are considered to be able to increase their pedagogical competency compared to before participating the training.
