Abstract

In learning Japanese, there are various problems that arise due to the differences between Japanese and mother language, such as aida ni. If translated into Indonesian it becomes selama. This study aims to explain the similarities and differences between aida ni and selama. The research method used is contrastive descriptive analysis. The data taken is sourced from 6 animes, 6 comics, newspaper, and drama in both Japanese and Indonesian. Based on the analysis carried out, in terms of sentence structure aida ni and selama have a function as a conjunction and play a role in connecting the main clause and the subordinate clause. The difference lies in the meaning. Of the seven categories of meaning, there are three similarities and four differences in aida ni and selama. The results of this study can be used as a reference for teachers in the learning process, such as the preparation of materials and the determination of effective teaching methods for learners when teaching a material, including material aida ni.
